Developed as a high-security medical intake infrastructure, HealthMed (originally MedReq) leverages a modern Next.js 16 and Firebase architecture to process complex clinical data. As the Prime Contributor, I engineered an asynchronous analysis engine that handles multi-stage processing jobs with automated recovery and real-time status polling. The platform features a hardened security layer including server-side session management, strict Zod schema validation, and multi-tier rate limiting to protect sensitive patient information. Beyond data entry, the system utilizes algorithms to detect physiological anomalies—such as SpO2 drops or febrile patterns—and cross-references them with authoritative sources like the CDC and NHS to generate structured PDF reports. The application is rounded out with a high-performance denormalized data model for instant dashboard access and a comprehensive testing suite utilizing Vitest and Playwright.
